Emily and Anthony’s rainy Huntsville Engagement Session was definitely one for the books. The weather had been sunny all day, then inevitably one hour before their engagement session storm clouds rolled in. I met Emily and Anthony through their cousin whose wedding I photographed, which you can view here. It makes my heart happy to know that my couples are so happy with their images that they tell others!
These two have been the sweetest since I met them. When we started to plan their Huntsville engagement session, we planned for something to mix both classic architecture and colorful nature. We started off at the Huntsville Museum of Art, then made out way to Research Park for some blossoms.
As I’ve made the transition to shooting film, it’s opened my eyes to how I shoot. By shooting digital, I tended to overshoot and just “hope I got the shot” but film has slowed me down and made me shoot intentionally. To really think about the shot I’m taking even when I’m shooting digital.
While we were traveling to our second location, it started to rain. Against the odds, we made the best of it and I am in love with them! How often do you get to run around in the rain? I felt that it was so moody and romantic while also bring out the child in us all.
