This Chic Nashville War Memorial Engagement Session was definitely one that I had been looking forward to! Ballie and Braxton have been friends of mine for about two years now and I have been so honored to have captured them together multiple times.

I originally met Ballie when she was working as a wedding planner and social media manager, I was fresh to the wedding industry and Ballie welcomed me with open arms. Immediately I felt like I had known her my whole life. Looking back today, I’m not really sure where the transition from stranger to friend happened because it truly happened so quickly. It may have been the karaoke “Picture” by Kid Rock ft. Sheryl Crowe we sang together…

Fast forward to a night out on the town, Ballie introduced me to her, (at that time), boyfriend Braxton. He was no different than Ballie and I also felt like I had known him my entire life. We spent the night laughing, dancing, and I left with my cheeks hurting from smiling so much.

Approximately a year later, Braxton told me he was going to propose to Ballie in New York City and asked if I was willing to travel to capture it. Of course, I said yes! We worked for weeks planning the entire process out, which you can watch here! She also obviously said yes!

All of these events brought us right here, to their Nashville War Memorial Engagement Session. We started the day off at the Nashville War Memorial, then made out way to Arrington Vineyards. It was important to Ballie and Braxton to have images with stunning architecture and also with natural outdoors.

I loved this idea and the fact that it showcased both sides of them. They love getting dressed up and going out, but also aren’t afraid to put their boots on! You can take them out of Kentucky, but you can’t take the Kentucky out of them!

Ballie and Braxton, thank you so much for giving me the incredible honor to follow you throughout this journey. From Huntsville, NYC, Nashville, and now Smiths Grove, Kentucky in October! I can’t wait to spend your big day with you too and be by your sides!

Cheers, friends!
